On 11 August 2025, Yoon Xu An, a human rights defender for the Methamphetamine in Hubei, was stopped directly from the stretcher by the security town authorities of the Methamed City as he was preparing to board 120 ambulances in Beijing.
So far, for a whole year, there's no news.
The family sought a lawyer, who sought a police station, a Political and Judicial Commission, and a higher authority, all of which was stupor and silence. A man with a blood pressure of up to 300/220 and suffering from severe coronary heart disease just evaporated under the authority of the CPC.
This is not an infraction by individual officials.
This is the normal operation under the ruling regime of the one-party Communist Party of China.
In this regime, the party leads and the PSC is directly responsible to the party, not to the citizens or to independent law. “Standing” is a hard task for citizens who are labelled “focusing” “sensitive” persons, who can be deprived of their personal liberty by administrative means quickly and can be replaced or even eliminated by legal formalities. Local implementation is a logic of accountability: as long as it does not “make an impact”, it can be done by whatever means.
Yoon Xu An has long been in power, has been imprisoned many times, has been severely controlled after his release and has been systematically marked. His attempts to seek medical treatment in Kyoto were intercepted on two occasions, suggesting that in the system “not letting him out” is much more important than “let him live”. Ambulances can be stopped, linked for a year, and seniors can respond in zero terms for a year — this is proof that this practice is allowed, tolerated and acquiesced in the power structure of the CPC.
When power is not limited by independence and “stability” is above the right to life, the call for help for the seriously at risk becomes noise that must be eliminated. The disappearance of Yoon Xu An is a direct product of the logic of stability of the Communist Party dictatorship.
We keep asking:
How many more are being legally disappeared under such a regime in the name of “stable security”?
What place does a system that can be forcibly removed from the health care system, and that is long-term invisibility at the top, place human life in?
