In November 2020, Yellow Wing lost his freedom.

As of 2 September 2026, he had been in detention for almost six consecutive years.

Instead of a case that moves from prosecution to the normal time line for the completion of sentences, one case has not yet been completed and the second national security case has been taken up.

(a) In 2012, Huang's defence, who is still a secondary school student, opposed the entry of Hong Kong's national education curriculum into the public domain; During the umbrella campaign in 2014, he became one of the young faces of the Hong Kong Democratic Movement ' s most international interest. In 2016, he joined the group of Rongqing and others in forming the Hong Kong public aspirations.

After the outbreak of the 2019 anti-codification campaign, the Yellow Front continued to participate in the democratic movement and to seek international support.

At the end of June 2020, Beijing bypassed the Hong Kong Legislative Council to enact and implement the Hong Kong National Security Act. The Hong Kong public announced the dissolution of the government.

In November of the same year, Huang Nobing began to remain in detention.

Since then, he has been accused of “collaborating to overthrow the State's power” for his participation in the unofficial primaries of the Democrats in

  1. In 2024, he was sentenced to four years and eight months' imprisonment in Hong Kong in the “47 Persons case”.

According to his original sentence, he was expected to be released in January 2027.

However, the second case has arisen before the end of the first national security case.

In June 2025, Huang's brother, who was still serving his sentence at the highest security level, was again detained by the National Security Police. The prosecution accused him of complicity with such people as Rong-hyun, who had already been exiled in Britain, demanding sanctions, blockades or other so-called “hostilities” from foreign Governments, institutions or individuals against Hong Kong and China.

The prosecution ' s list of acts was focused on the period from 1 July to 23 November 2020.

On 2 September, Wong Nobing, aged 29, was taken to the High Court of Hong Kong. In his blue shirt, he confirmed in court his admission of the crime of “collusion with foreign forces against national security”.

The Associated Press reported that this was the second time that Huang was prosecuted for the national security law in Hong Kong.

This offence is usually punishable by 3 to 10 years ' imprisonment; If the court finds it to be “serious”, the maximum penalty is life imprisonment. The admission of guilt may normally affect the sentence, but the final sentence remains to be determined by the court.

As a result, Huang Noboa was once again uncertain about the date on which he could have been released.

The most noteworthy place on this axis is not just the length of the sentence, but the way in which criminal prosecutions are constantly being overloaded.

The first case was handled by the Democratic primaries, characterized as “subversive”; The second case, which dealt with the search for international political support and sanctions initiatives, was characterized as “collaboration with foreign forces”.

The Government of Hong Kong has maintained that the National Security Law has restored social stability and has stated that the cases are dealt with in accordance with the law. Human rights organizations, for their part, believe that the Government is constantly integrating democratic initiatives and expressions into the national security criminal system.

Huang Noboa has become a political figure in Hong Kong for organizing students against national education.

Fourteen years later, the same person has been deprived of his liberty for nearly six consecutive years and is facing a second national security case, which carries the maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

This is the most visible personal axis of change in the political environment in Hong Kong: a young man who has been able to organize political parties, hold press conferences and engage in political activities openly must now calculate the next sentence in the SNST.
